I love the canister and decided to empty out the melted candle-potpourri concoction (that took several minutes and a butter knife). Then I went to work on making a new candle using the following:
I stuck the Yankee jar candle into the canister and started filling up the canister with the river rocks:
I just filled it until just the rim of the Yankee jar candle was visible. And now I have a nice new candle!
You can't tell in the picture, but when the candle is lit there's a nice soft glow through all of the rocks.

Yankee Jar Candle: A Christmas gift
I'm thinking I should start to save the jars and glass containers that my candles come in and remove the labels to use them in various ways once the candles are all burnt out. Any ideas to share?

I love it! Saving the jars from candles is a great idea! I have 3 that I use in my bathroom, they're little short sorta square ones? I use them to hold: cotton balls, q-tips, and those little dental floss/tooth pick things. That way if I have a guest that may need something like that, they don't feel like they need to ask me, or go rummaging through my cabinets to find what they need!
