A Make-Do Cloche

I have been yearning for a cloche since I began seeing them all over the decor blog world a few months ago. I guess I am easily influenced!

So far, I haven't come across a bargain cloche. I am still looking. I'd love to find a tall one that could house a plant. But for now, here is my "make-do-using-what-you-have" cloche. I had the glass cheese dome on hand (I had actually forgotten all about it til I stumbled upon it in a cabinet the other day!). I also had the green grass and snatched the bird from my hutch. This is now in my living room. It makes me happy til I can find exactly what I want!

Do you have any cloches? Where did you find them, and what do you have in/under them?

This blog could not have had more perfect timing! I actually got a cloche from a wedding a few years ago. All of the floral arrangements were in cloches and since they purchased them for the event, the guests were allowed to take one home. I spotted it in storage the other day (I had totally forgotten about it) and started thinking about how cute it would be, but had no idea what to put in it.

I thought about maybe putting an orchid in it, but worried about killing the plant. And I've been trying to figure out what to add. Thanks for all of the inspiring photos! This totally helped!

And I LOVE your bird in grass! I might have to steal your bird idea, if you don't mind!

I love cloches as well...I found a large one a couple years ago at goodwill and had it for a while and tragically it was victim of a golf ball incident (FYI: I have 3 boys) So after all the tears I have been on the hunt for more and found a small one like yours at a garage sale. I put moss and a pear in it very similar to yours. Love your post...Amy The Nifty Nurse

I love cloches. I have several in different sizes that I usually find at thrift stores. Love all your gorgeous picures.

What a great idea! I have been searching for one as well and never even thought about using a cheese dish. Brilliant!

I have two and I wouldn't say they were bargains but they weren't terribly expensive. I think both were between $20 and $40. I have enjoyed them so much it was worth it!

Great idea using the cheese dish. Your baby is precious right next to it!
